Fly Fishing
Fly Fishing

If you fly fish, come prepared to visit several Arkansas mountain streams, starting with White River. Then venture west to Crooked Creek close to Yellville for smallmouth bass and other species. If the water level in the lakes is normal, tailwaters of Lake Norfork offer rewarding trout fishing, too.

Fun Skiing on Bull Shoals Lake

Skimming the surface of beautiful Bull Shoals Lake on a summer day convinces many to come back and visit again next year. Just rent a boat and everything you need to ski at marinas.

Rivercliff Golf Course
Rivercliff Golf Course

One of the most unique golfing games you may ever have can be played in Bull Shoals. You’ll play alongside a well-known cold-water trout stream, the White River, in the shadow of big Bull Shoals Dam, the 10th largest hydroelectric dam in the nation. A short drive to Mountain Home takes you to either Twin Lakes Golf Course on the east side of town, or the highly acclaimed Big Creek Golf and Country Club on the west side of town.

James A. Gaston Visitor Center
James A. Gaston Visitor Center

New in late 2006 is the James A. Gaston Visitor Center, now the center of activities for the Bull Shoals-White River State Park, plus educational activities, tours and meetings. Open nearly every day of the year and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the most-visited times of the year, the center is named for a noted leader of Arkansas tourism who is a local resident.

Bull Shoals Caverns
Bull Shoals Caverns

Go underground to see Bull Shoals Caverns. The caverns are typical of the region – and have no stairs to climb!

Mountain Village 1890
Mountain Village 1890

Mountain Village 1890 is an authentically restored Ozark town reflecting life in Arkansas nearly 120 years ago. Historic buildings from the era were moved to this beautiful site from area towns and other regions of Arkansas. For more fun, play miniature golf in a shady setting and lighted at night.
